Summary
ICF Mentor Coaching | 3 × 1:1 Sessions | ReciproCoach Member Rate
Individual ICF Mentor Coaching for ACC, PCC and MCC credential development and renewal
Three 60-minute individual mentor coaching sessions with Rachel Dungan, ICF MCC, MCS-ACC, MCS-PCC and MCS-MCC, offered exclusively to ReciproCoach members at the ReciproCoach recommended member rate.
ICF Mentor Coaching is a collaborative learning process focused specifically on developing your coaching skills and your unique coaching style in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies and the standards appropriate to your credential level. It combines reflection, evidence-based feedback, guidance and opportunities to practise and integrate learning between sessions.
This product can be used in four ways:
1. ACC, PCC or MCC credential application
For coaches working towards an ICF credential, the three sessions form the minimum three hours of individual mentor coaching required as part of the overall 10-hour ICF mentor coaching requirement.
The work is grounded in your actual coaching. Across the three sessions, a minimum of three distinct coaching session recordings are reviewed. You receive a completed ICF Session Observation Form for each recording, with written and verbal feedback identifying demonstrated strengths and development opportunities in relation to the ICF Core Competencies and the Minimum Skills Requirements for your intended ACC, PCC or MCC credential level.
Development is considered across the portfolio of recordings using the relevant Competency Review Form. Where all requirements have not yet been demonstrated, you may choose to continue recording coaching sessions and receive additional mentor coaching and Session Observation feedback, providing further opportunities to demonstrate and integrate the required coaching skills over time.
If you are applying for the ICF MCC credential, please note that in addition to completing your required mentor coaching, an MCC credential application requires the submission of two recorded coaching sessions, with accompanying written transcripts, to ICF for Performance Evaluation.
2. ACC credential renewal
The three individual sessions can contribute three hours towards the 10 hours of mentor coaching required for ACC renewal. The emphasis remains on developing your coaching competence and unique coaching style; however, ICF Session Observation and Competency Review Forms are not required for credential renewal and the sessions can therefore be tailored to your particular developmental priorities.
3. PCC or MCC renewal and continuing professional development
PCC and MCC coaches may use individual mentor coaching as optional continuing professional development towards credential renewal. Sessions provide a dedicated opportunity to review and further develop your coaching practice at PCC or MCC level. Session Observation and Competency Review Forms are not required for renewal.
4. CPD for EMCC/AC affiliated coaches.
Mentor Coaching Agreement
3 × 1:1 ICF Mentor Coaching Sessions | ACC • PCC • MCC
I am delighted to partner with you in your ongoing development as a coach. A clear Mentor Coaching Agreement provides the foundation for a purposeful, ethical and developmental relationship.
This product is available exclusively to ReciproCoach members and includes three 60-minute individual mentor coaching sessions with Rachel Dungan, ICF MCC, MCS-ACC, MCS-PCC and MCS-MCC, at the agreed ReciproCoach member rate.
1. Purpose and Scope of ICF Mentor Coaching
Mentor Coaching with ICF | Grow as a Coaching Professional
ICF mentor coaching is a collaborative learning process focused specifically on developing your coaching skills and unique coaching style in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies and the standards relevant to your credential level. It is developmental and formative: it is not a pass/fail assessment, a guarantee of credential success, general business mentoring, practice-building consultancy, psychotherapy, legal advice or medical advice.
Unlike pure coaching, mentor coaching includes evidence-based observations, feedback, guidance and suggestions for development. We will partner to identify your goals, strengths, development opportunities and experiments for practice between sessions.
2. Three Pathways Within This Product
Pathway 1 — ACC, PCC or MCC Credential Application
These three individual sessions may form the minimum three hours of one-to-one mentor coaching within the 10 hours required for an ICF credential application.
For this credential-application pathway, the work is grounded in your actual coaching. A minimum of three distinct coaching session recordings will be used across the three-session engagement, with a Session Observation Form (SOF) completed for each recording at the credential level being sought.
Across the engagement, the relevant Competency Review Form is used developmentally to consider your cumulative demonstration of coaching skills.
Completion of three sessions or three Session Observation Forms does not guarantee that you have reached the credential standard. If all requirements have not yet been demonstrated to your desired credential application standard across the initial portfolio of recordings, you may continue to record further coaching sessions and purchase additional mentor coaching and recording review. Further Session Observation Forms may then contribute additional evidence of development across your portfolio.
Pathway 2 — ACC Credential Renewal
These three individual sessions may contribute three hours towards the 10 hours of mentor coaching required for ACC credential renewal. Session Observation Forms and Competency Review Forms are not required by ICF for renewal applications, although they may be used by agreement where they would add developmental value.
The sessions may therefore be tailored more flexibly to your coaching-skill development priorities while remaining focused on the ICF Core Competencies.
Pathway 3 — PCC or MCC Renewal / Continuing Professional Development
PCC and MCC coaches may use individual/group mentor coaching as optional continuing professional development towards credential renewal, subject to the current ICF renewal requirements. Session Observation Forms and Competency Review Forms are not required for renewal.
The purpose remains developmental: to deepen coaching competence, strengthen reflective awareness and support the continuing evolution of your unique coaching style.
3. The ICF Three-Month Requirement
For an ICF credential application or ACC renewal, the required 10 hours of mentor coaching must take place over a minimum period of three months. ICF specifies that at least 12 full weeks must pass between the first and final mentor coaching sessions counted towards the 10-hour requirement.
These three ReciproCoach member sessions therefore need to be planned in the context of your overall 10-hour mentor coaching arrangement. It is your responsibility to ensure that the complete set of mentor coaching hours you intend to submit meets the current ICF timing and eligibility requirements.
4. Group Mentor Coaching — Recommended
This agreement, exclusively for ReciproCoach members, provides three individual mentor coaching hours only. I strongly recommend that you also consider availing of group mentor coaching as part of your wider development and, where applicable, your 10-hour ICF mentor coaching requirement.
Group mentor coaching offers valuable additional opportunities to listen to and learn from other coaches & mentor coaches, observe different coaching styles, practise identifying strengths and development opportunities, receive multiple perspectives, and deepen your understanding of the ICF Core Competencies in a collaborative learning environment.
For ICF credentialing purposes, the remaining seven hours of the 10-hour mentor coaching requirement may be completed through eligible one-to-one mentor coaching, eligible group mentor coaching, or a combination of both, subject to current ICF requirements.
5. MCC Credential Applicants — Separate Performance Evaluation Requirement
If you are applying for the ICF MCC credential, mentor coaching and the ICF Performance Evaluation are separate elements of the credentialing process.
In addition to completing the required mentor coaching, MCC applicants are required to submit two recorded coaching sessions, together with the required written transcripts and supporting information, to ICF for Performance Evaluation. Criteria for Accessing MCC Credential | Certification Guide
Recordings reviewed within mentor coaching are used for formative learning and development. Your two Performance Evaluation recordings are separately selected and submitted to ICF and are independently assessed through the ICF credentialing process.
This mentor coaching package does not constitute an ICF Performance Evaluation. I can support your development towards MCC-level coaching and provide evidence-based formative feedback; I cannot certify that a particular recording will meet the ICF MCC Performance Evaluation standard or guarantee the outcome of an ICF assessment.
6. Preparation for Mentor Coaching Sessions
(Required for Credential-Application. Highly recommended for other pathways)
- Obtain your coaching client’s explicit written permission for the coaching session to be recorded and used for mentor coaching and, where relevant, credentialing purposes.
- Record a complete coaching session with an actual coaching client.
- Listen back to the recording before our mentor coaching session and reflect on demonstrated strengths, possible missed opportunities, questions and your preferred developmental focus.
- Provide the recording and transcript in the agreed manner and by the agreed deadline so that I can complete the required pre-session review. (Most of my mentor coaching clients use Raenotes. It enables you to temporarily share access to your recording with me for the purposes of mentor coaching. It also includes a transcription tool, a collaborative tool for us to use together to review your transcript against the ICF Minimum Skill Requirements. RaeNotes | Assessment tool for mentor coaching certification programs).
- Become familiar with the current ICF Core Competencies and the Minimum Skills Requirements relevant to the credential level you are seeking.
To help you prepare for your mentor coaching sessions and become a better coach, here are some valuable resources:
- Download the ICF Core Competencies — Available in multiple languages.
- Dive Deeper into the ICF Core Competencies — Explore this insightful video series.
- Download the ACC Minimum Skills Requirements
- Download PCC Minimum Skills Requirements
- Download the MCC Minimum Skills Requirements
For credential-application sessions, I will review the full recording in advance, identify evidence-based strengths and development opportunities, and complete the relevant Session Observation Form before our live mentor coaching session. The time I spend reviewing recordings, preparing feedback and completing documentation does not count towards your ICF mentor coaching hours.
7. During the Mentor Coaching Sessions
Our live sessions will include reflective dialogue about your coaching, verbal and written feedback grounded in observable coaching behaviours, consideration of strengths and development opportunities, and partnership on how you wish to practise and integrate your learning.
You are encouraged to bring your own observations first. Feedback is intended to be clear, respectful, non-judgmental and developmental. You remain responsible for deciding how you integrate feedback into your own authentic coaching style.
8. Additional Recordings and Additional Mentor Coaching
This three-session ReciproCoach member agreement includes three 60-minute individual mentor coaching sessions and, for credential applicants, the agreed review and documentation associated with three distinct recordings.
Additional recording reviews, Session Observation Forms, Competency Review work or additional live mentor coaching requested beyond the included scope are not included in this three-session product and must be agreed and paid for separately before the additional work is undertaken.
The need for additional development is not a failure of the process. Mentor coaching is intended to support learning over time, and coaches develop different competencies at different rates.
9. Roles, Responsibilities and Boundaries
As your mentor coach, I will:
- Partner with you to establish the purpose, goals, measures of success and practical arrangements for our mentor coaching relationship.
- Maintain a developmental focus on your coaching skills in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies and the standards relevant to your intended credential level.
- Provide specific, evidence-based observations and feedback, using examples from your coaching.
- Acknowledge demonstrated strengths as well as development opportunities.
- Support reflection, experimentation and integration between sessions while honouring your unique coaching style.
- Maintain appropriate distinctions between mentor coaching, coaching, coaching supervision, coach education and credential assessment.
- Verify mentor coaching hours I have provided when legitimately required for an ICF credential or renewal application.
- Make no guarantee that mentor coaching will result in the award or renewal of an ICF credential.
As the mentee, you agree to:
- Take responsibility for your credential or renewal application and for checking that your overall mentor coaching arrangement meets current ICF requirements.
- Prepare for sessions and actively engage in reflection, feedback, practice and experimentation.
- Obtain all required permissions before recording or sharing any coaching-client material.
- Bring questions, concerns, disagreements or requests for a different feedback approach into our work openly and promptly.
- Allow sufficient time between mentor coaching sessions for practice and integration.
- Keep your own accurate record of mentor coaching dates and hours.
10. Scheduling, Cancellations and Termination
Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. Re-scheduling or cancellation must normally be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled session. Late cancellation or non-attendance may result in the session being forfeited.
If you arrive late, the session will normally still finish at the agreed time.
Either party may terminate the mentor coaching relationship. Where practicable, one week’s notice should be given before the next scheduled session. Any financial consequences will be governed by the payment and cancellation terms applicable to this product.
11. ReciproCoach Member Eligibility and Fee

12. Confidentiality, Recordings and Data Protection
Information shared within mentor coaching is treated as confidential subject to the limits of applicable law, professional ethical obligations, the requirements of the ReciproCoach arrangement, and any explicit permissions you provide.
You are responsible for obtaining appropriate written consent from your coaching client before recording a coaching session or sharing any recording, transcript or client material for mentor coaching or credentialing purposes.
Recordings and sensitive coaching-client information will be handled and stored in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and the relevant privacy policy. Continue Your Development — Optional Coaching Super-Vision for ReciproCoach Members
Optional add-on exclusively for ReciproCoach members
As a ReciproCoach member, you may also choose to complement your mentor coaching with 3 × 60-minute individual coaching super-vision sessions with Rachel, available at the exclusive ReciproCoach Individual Supervision member rate.
Rachel is a ReciproCoach Recommended Coaching Supervisor and holds ICF MCC, ACTC and Coaching Supervisor Specialization (CSS), together with EMCC EIA Senior Practitioner, ESIA and ITCA accreditations. Her specialist coaching super-vision education was triple accredited by ICF, EMCC and the Association for Coaching (AC).
Rachel provides coaching super-vision for individual coaches, mentors, team coaches, coaching supervisors and coaching/mentoring programme managers. Her wider supervision practice includes individual and group supervision, team coaching supervision and supervision of supervision.
Coaching super-vision and mentor coaching
Coaching super-vision is distinct from, and complementary to, mentor coaching.
Mentor coaching focuses specifically on developing your coaching skills and unique coaching style in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies and the standards relevant to your credential level.
Coaching super-vision provides a broader confidential, non-judgmental and reflective partnership in which you can step back from your practice to explore your professional identity and development, ethical decision-making, relational, cultural and systemic dynamics, contracting and boundaries, your own patterns and presence in the work, and the sustainability and quality of your professional practice.
Using super-vision towards professional accreditation, credentialing and renewal
Coaching super-vision is not only valuable reflective professional practice; for many professional coaching accreditations and credentials it is a formal requirement.
ICF: Eligible coaching super-vision may contribute up to 10hr CCEs towards professional development for ACC, PCC and MCC credential renewal. Super-vision claimed for credential-renewal professional development must be received from a super-visor who holds the ICF-CSS or another recognised coaching super-vision credential or accreditation. Rachel meets this requirement through both ICF-CSS and EMCC ESIA.
For ICF ACTC application and renewal, ICF requires eligible super-visors working with ACTC applicants and renewal candidates to also hold the ACTC or another recognised team coaching credential. Rachel holds both ICF-CSS and ICF-ACTC, as well as EMCC ESIA and ITCA.
For ICF-CSS renewal, CSS holders must complete 10 hours of coaching super-vision professional development during each three-year credential period. At least five hours must involve receiving coaching super-vision, and up to all 10 hours may be fulfilled through receipt of coaching super-vision with an eligible super-visor.
EMCC Global: Ongoing 1:1 super-vision forms part of EMCC's individual professional accreditation processes for coaches and mentors (EIA), team coaches (ITCA), coaching supervisors (ESIA) and coaching/mentoring programme managers (IPMA). The precise frequency and volume of super-vision required varies according to the accreditation pathway, level and volume of professional practice.
Association for Coaching (AC): Ongoing super-vision similarly forms part of AC professional accreditation requirements for individual coaches/executive coaches, team coaches and coaching supervisors, with the required frequency and volume determined by the particular accreditation pathway and level.
Your super-vision sessions with Rachel may therefore contribute towards relevant ICF, EMCC and AC credential/accreditation application, renewal and continuing professional development requirements, subject to the current requirements of your particular professional body, accreditation level and pathway. You remain responsible for confirming the number, type, timing and other requirements applicable to your individual application or renewal.
